Stone was born on August 5, 1997. She was way, way overdue and weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces. As would prove true for the rest of her life, she took her sweet time gracing this world with her presence. Her mum, Desiree Torres, was in labor for 22 hours at the hospital. From the time she was old enough to accompany her mum to the grocery store, strangers were drawn to her. She has a collection of $2 bills saved up from random strangers approaching to say how beautiful she was and how they wanted her to have the bill as a keepsake.
She had such a strong, infectious personality from the start and there was never a dull moment with her. Stoney LIVED. It was fitting that her first tattoo said "LIVE." She had several other well-placed and well-thought-out pieces of artwork. She had one tattoo down her spine that said, "Peace and Blessings Manifest with Every Lesson Learned." She also had three large roses on her hip to signify the love between her, her mum, and her grammie, Jennifer Brown. She hid them well from her poppie, Don Frauenberger, because she knew he did not approve of tattoos.
She packed SO much into 23 years. She traveled all over the place...Australia, Mexico, Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada, Florida, Chicago, and New York. Everywhere she went, she made new friends and left a lasting impression. There was no experience quite like spending time Stoney.
She was truly legendary. Imagine how you feel on your best day. Your coffee tastes like magic. Your playlist makes you dance. Strangers make you smile. That is the kind of day it was everyday with Stoney. Her soul was so attractive and resonated with everyone she encountered.
Early on in her life, Stoney attended private school in Australia. There, she learned to play the violin. She also learned Japanese. By the time she moved back to the states in 2004, she could rattle off a bunch of words in Japanese, but did it all with an Aussie accent.
Stoney was a Jr. Lifeguard in Oceanside, California for several years. She also played soccer in Australia, but was slow to pick up the sport. In fact, she would often stop mid run to tap into ant mounds while the rest of her team members jolted down the field. She would also stop in the middle of a game to pose for a picture, regardless of what her teammates were doing. Eventually, she became very good at soccer and played on a champion traveling soccer team in Carlsbad, California.
From the age of three, Stoney tore up numerous flat tracks and dirt trails. She LOVED to ride motorcycles. Her devoted poppie, Don Frauenberger, taught her all she needed to know and to outride most of the guys she hung out with later in life. She idolized her poppie!! She was recruited to make a Netflix documentary on female dirt bike riders, which unfortunately never materialized due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
She had a short acting career with a stint in a kid's television show -- B. Boppin' in 2008. Stoney also danced competitively for Dance Unlimited in Oceanside, California for several years. She parlayed these experience into cheerleading at Palm Desert High School. She made the varsity squad as a sophomore and met many of her best friends through cheer.. She always wanted to spread her light and make others laugh and smile, as displayed in her videos on this tribute site.
She LOVED Lake Havasu. She started going to the river when she was little and slept in the back of the boat for hours when the boat was on the water all day. She was always the first one to get up on the wakeboard when she got older.
She was the BEST sister to her brother, Valentino Torres. She took him to Chuck E. Cheese and Boomers and swam with him all the time in the pool. Stoney taught Valentino to flip off the edge of the pool into the water. She surprised him with McDonald's at school on a regular basis. Stone came to Valentino's football games, sometimes with an entourage. He always played a little harder, knowing she was watching him.
She was the MOST amazing daughter and grand daughter. She was SO appreciative of the things that were given to her in life and was always sure to reciprocate the love. She brightened the lives of her immediate family -- Desiree Torres, Valentino Torres, Alexander Torres, Jennifer Brown, and Don Frauenberger, and enlivened her extended family and adoring friends. .
Stoney had mad skills as a waitress at Islands, Yard House, and Cliff House. She often had the highest total sales in the restaurant and her customers absolutely loved her. Her Islands family held a special place in her heart.
Stoney was incredibly ambitious. She was planning to attend real estate school and buy a house in the near future. At the age of 23, she was an independent woman with an ardent excitement for life. She was so advanced in her wisdom. Stoney was the MOST GIVING, MOST REAL HUMAN BEING TO HAVE WALKED THIS EARTH. There was nothing fake about her -- from her genuine heart to her beauty that emanated from her soul. Everything she did, she did with passion. As her poppie aptly described her, she was the "full package."
